More than a fun competition, the National Forklift Racing (NFLR) competitions happening in Lifespark Senior Living campuses are part of SPARK, a differentiated, evidence-based, community-oriented, model designed by Dr. Bill Thomas, Lifespark Independence Officer and national geriatrician, to foster greater health and well-being right where you live.

Part of this model are SPARK Performances which are used to demonstrate strength, purpose, and belonging in action. NFLR is one of several performances residents compete in throughout Lifespark Senior Living campuses which include drone racing, TRYathalon, and others. SPARK makes a major shift in senior living by addressing health in a way that’s very different than the classical individualized approach that you see in residential life program – this is about building community, fostering connectedness, and strengthening the body as we age to keep people independent and healthy.

WCCO beautifully captured this event, watch for more….
