Hamilton Hustlers: The Relentless Pursuit of Victory

The Hamilton Hustlers of Hamilton House are more than just a team. They are a well-oiled machine, an engine of pure grit and determination, driven by numbers, strategy, and an unbreakable team spirit. For them, success isn’t accidental—it’s calculated. Every event is dissected, every practice purposeful, and every move intentional. While some teams play the game, the Hustlers master it.

At the core of this powerhouse is captain Ron Szuta, a man who doesn’t just lead—he analyzes, strategizes, and perfects. ”We‘ve done the training. We’ve done the math. We know what it takes to win,“ Szuta says with conviction. His meticulous records of past competitions allow the team to optimize their performance down to the second. ”I‘ve got years of documentation, statistical analysis, and performance records. I can pretty much predict how a team will perform before they even step on the field.“

If Szuta is the Hustlers’ architect, then Coach Tory Brockdor is its heartbeat. With boundless energy and infectious enthusiasm, she fuels the team’s spirit, ensuring every member feels valued and motivated. “We’re not just competing—we’re building something. This is about teamwork, purpose, and pushing each other to be our best,” Brockdor says. “And yes, we want to win. But more importantly, we want to inspire.”

The Science of Success

The Hustlers’ dominance isn’t just about raw talent. It’s about preparation. The team’s practice days are grueling yet methodical. From grip strength training to endurance tests, every drill has a purpose.

“Take the grip games, for example,” Szuta explains. “We use a dynamometer to measure grip strength so we can build the strongest roster possible. It’s about optimizing every advantage.”

For endurance-based events like the arm and leg crank, the team studies transition times down to the millisecond, shaving off precious moments to maximize distance. “We have it calculated down to how many seconds it takes to move and switch people. Every small adjustment matters,” Szuta says.

And then there’s the pedometer challenge—a game of sheer mileage. The Hustlers don’t just walk; they map out the most efficient routes, strategizing the best ways to rack up steps. “Al, one of our teammates and a former CPA, crunches the numbers and figures out the best walking patterns,” Brockdor says. “We don’t just go out there and hope for the best—we plan for the best.”

Their results speak for themselves. Just this past week, the Hustlers clocked an astonishing 29.95 miles in competition—just a fraction away from the elusive 30-mile mark. “We’re going to hit it next week,” Szuta declares. “No doubt about it.“

Beyond Competition: The Power of Purpose

But the Hustlers are more than just a team chasing records. They’re a family. A unit. A testament to the power of community, camaraderie, and competition at any stage of life.

Consider Mary and Richard, two teammates whose journey epitomizes the team’s spirit. “Mary has been dealing with memory challenges, and Richard has been by her side, guiding and supporting her,” Brockdor shares. “Since joining the team, she’s come alive. She’s engaged, active, and thriving. And Richard? He takes so much pride in helping her succeed.”

Then there’s Gladys, the team’s unofficial cheer captain. A former cheerleader herself, she took it upon herself to lead chants, boost morale, and even rally members of the memory care unit to join in the excitement. “It’s incredible to see,” Szuta says. “Even if someone just toe-taps for 10 seconds, you can see the joy it brings them.”

The team’s impact extends beyond the playing field. Their world championship victories translate into celebrations for the entire community—literally. The Hustlers have used prize money to fund ice cream trucks, pizza parties, and even summer barbecues. “It’s not just about winning,” Brockdor says. “It’s about bringing people together.”

The Road Ahead

With the national championship in their sights, the Hustlers are locked in. The goal? Defend their title in the Grip Games. Dominate in the Forklift races. And push past 30 miles in the TRYathlon.

“We’re not slowing down,” Szuta says. “We’ve got our strategy, our training, and our team spirit. And we’re going to bring home another title.”

Brockdor, ever the coach, smiles. “Win or lose, we’ve already won. These players, this team—it’s something special.“

As the Hustlers gear up for their next challenge, one thing is certain: they’re not just competitors. They’re innovators, strategists, and above all, relentless Hustlers.
