With fire in her personality, Maxine Tenney has passion in her life and she has no plans to waste it. According to Maxine’s Lifespark Life Care Manager (LCM), Maxine has memory loss which is what initially brought her to the Reflections community at the Brightondale campus, a Silver Crest property, where Lifespark partners with SilverCrest to provide the Life Experience™ on-site to its residents.
Her LCM recalled countless times where Maxine would say: ‘I want to remember the time I was a hot babe. I want to dye my hair red and ride in a red convertible.’ And that’s exactly what she did.
Lifespark arranged for a 1969 red convertible Camaro, driven by a Lifespark Life Care Navigator, to take Maxine, who was busy adding the finishing touches to her newly dyed red hair, for a ride. They rode through Maxine’s old neighborhoods to show off her new look, and stopped for lunch at Sonic, a 50s-style restaurant that serves food curbside, reminiscent of Maxine’s favorite times.
Maxine was sparked. What did she have to say about that moment: “It was a dream come true. When the red convertible pulled up, it was exactly what I asked for when I was a child. I sat in the front seat with the driver and it was unreal to me. I kept pinching myself!”
