Technology Custom Made for Seniors . . . Finally

Researchers from Brigham Young University have found that relationships have more impact on your health than many other risk factors such as obesity or physical inactivity. They have also discovered that social connections strengthen our immune system, lead to lower rates of depression and anxiety, and help people recover faster from trauma or illness.

More than half of seniors (53 percent) nationally indicate that being close to friends and family is important, and 15 percent report occasional feelings of isolation. Eighty-four percent of seniors nationally cite technology as important to their ability to connect with the world around them.

The challenge for many seniors though is that connecting to their purpose and passions isn’t always as easy – family may live far away, health challenges may prevent them from traveling, and technology today isn’t built with seniors in mind. To change that experience, Lifesprk is partnering with the technology company grandPad to offer a Lifesprk grandPad to people who want to stay connected with family and friends without all the hassles of traditional technology. This 7” tablet appeals to people who want to participate in family interactions using the ease of video calls, email, games, personalized music, and social photo sharing without any of the complications – no wires, no WIFI, no software updates or even passwords to remember. And through free 24/7 support, any issues that may arise with the device can easily be solved.

John Fraser, Chief Technology Officer for Lifesprk, had a mission of finding technology that sparked lives. He knew simplicity was key from personal experience. “My grandparents rejected tablets and other technology time and time again. After using the Lifesprk grandPad, they adopted it immediately.  Six months later, reviewing new family photos and playing games is still a daily part of their lives,” shared John.  Joan, another current grandPad user said, “I push a few buttons and you’re no longer alone.” Many family members have praised the ability to make video calls with older loved ones to gain a better picture of how they are doing.

The grandPad is subscription-based and is renewed on a month-to-month basis with no long-term contracts. If you find you’re not satisfied, you can easily cancel it at any time. To learn more and take advantage of the current promotion, simply go to our Lifesprk grandPad web page or call 800-704-9412.

Listen to an audio conversation on this topic: When I was eleven, I became obsessed with learning how to ride a unicycle. It was a slow and painful process, involving ugly gashes, lacerations, road rash, and bruises, but I refused to give up. How my mom survived the bloodletting is beyond me, but never once […]
