Recently, Joel Theisen, BSN, RN, founder and CEO of Lifespark, joined Susan-Elizabeth Littlefield on CBS Minnesota to discuss what it means to live well as we age. During the conversation, Joel shared how Lifespark’s COMPLETE Senior Living approach is transforming the senior living experience by integrating health into communities, helping seniors stay healthy while creating opportunities to build strength, purpose, and belonging.
A key theme of the discussion was challenging the traditional mindset around aging. Too often, older adults are viewed through the lens of risk avoidance, with decisions driven by what’s considered “safe” rather than what keeps people engaged and thriving.
The conversation also highlighted two of Lifespark’s examples of aging magnificently in action: Camp Joy, our summer camp for seniors, and our Senior Cheerleading competition. These two experiences demonstrate what’s possible when we stop defining aging by limitations and start focusing on possibility.
At Lifespark, we’re proud to help make those opportunities possible by supporting seniors’ health so they can spend more time doing the things that make life meaningful to them.
