At the height of the pandemic, Lifespark launched what was called Acute Care at Home as a direct response to community need to serve people at home. We did it because it was the right thing to do, and we had the capabilities to do it long before payment mechanisms caught up.
In a recent article in MedCity News, Joel Theisen, Lifespark CEO, shares his thoughts on why we integrated Urgent Response Services into our Lifespark COMPLETE model as a natural way to fill a much-needed gap for our members for things that can be better served at home.
“Now that the lockdown is over, though, we are realizing the benefits, both medical and economic, of preventing unneeded visits to local hospitals,” pointed out Joel. “Lifespark and other private health care companies, as well as some public agencies around the country, are moving nurses and paramedics into the field to treat people at home instead of the hospital emergency room or urgent care clinics.”
