The biggest area of over usage can be found in the emergency room (ER) where more than 50-55% of visits are unnecessary. As we’ve shared, here in Minnesota, new data shows that one in six days of inpatient care in the hospital has been deemed unnecessary – that means 65,000 people who went to the hospital didn’t have to.
