In-home emergency care cuts costs, but needs more payer buy-in

Just a few days after Lifespark announced Pete Carlson as our VP, Acute Response Services leading the addition of Urgent Response Services as an integrated part of Lifespark COMPLETE, Modern Healthcare interviews Lifespark CEO, Joel Theisen, on why Lifespark is jumping into the at home emergency care space.

“Urgent Response Services aims to close care gaps for about 3,000 chronically ill older adults who frequently use hospital emergency departments,” said Theisen. “The igniter for setting off the bomb of costs is the acute hospital event. If you can keep them out of the emergency room, everyone wins big.”
