In Good Company banner, a podcast celebrating The Lifespark Way with guest Spencer Cahoon

In Good Company, Lifespark’s podcast dedicated to sharing team members’ stories and exploring our company values, is coming to the Change On series. Tune in for a new episode every month.

Meet Spencer Cahoon — Director of our Urgent Response Team, nurse by trade (also married to one), and dad to four kids who probably keep him busier than any shift ever could.

Spencer’s story starts in a Washington State cul-de-sac, where campfire nights with neighbors taught him what community really means. It shows up again in nursing school, where he traded lawnmowing money for a cello and started playing for hospice patients — because sometimes what someone needs isn’t more medicine, it’s music.

One moment stuck with him: a patient who was actively dying opened his eyes, said his last words to Spencer, and passed peacefully. Music got him there.

In this episode, Spencer also tells us about the client nobody wanted to work with — a man who lived in a van and swore like a sailor. Spencer ‘found a way’ before he even found his way to Lifespark. It’s a masterclass in showing up for people who aren’t ready for you yet.

Life is hard, no matter how prepared we are. So, what does Spencer reach for in the hardest moments? Tune in and find out.

These podcasts are wonderful reminders that no matter where you work, you’re In Good Company.
